We are currently updating our roster of consultants to support our growing portfolio of projects. We seek a Migration and Movement Consultant Expert to provide strategic guidance and technical support on migration policies, programs, and research.

Objectives:
The Migration and Movement Consultant Expert will play a crucial role in ensuring that migration and movement considerations are integrated into Scofield Associates’ projects. Key objectives include:

  • Providing technical expertise and guidance on migration trends, policies, legal frameworks, and data analysis.
  • Conducting migration assessments, research studies, and program evaluations to inform policymaking and improve program implementation.
  • Developing evidence-based migration policies, strategies, and action plans to address the root causes of migration and promote safe and orderly movement.
  • Designing and facilitating training and capacity-building programs on migration management, migrant rights, and integration.
  • Collaborating with project teams to ensure the effective integration of migration considerations into project design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Representing Scofield Associates in relevant forums and networks on migration and movement.

Scope of Work:
The Migration and Movement Consultant Expert will be engaged on a project-specific basis, with the scope of work tailored to the specific needs of each project. Typical tasks may include:

  • Conducting migration assessments to analyze migration trends, drivers, and impacts.
  • Developing migration policies and strategies to address the challenges and opportunities of migration.
  • Designing and implementing migration programs and projects to promote safe and orderly migration.
  • Providing technical advice and support on migration-related issues to governments, international organizations, and civil society organizations.
  • Conducting research on migration trends, patterns, and impacts.
  • Preparing comprehensive reports and presentations that clearly communicate migration findings and recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Master’s degree in Migration Studies, International Relations, Development Studies, Law, Social Sciences, or a related field with at least five years of relevant experience, OR
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Migration Studies, International Relations, Development Studies, Law, Social Sciences, or a related field with at least eight years of relevant experience.
  • A PhD in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in migration research, policy analysis, and program evaluation.
  • Strong understanding of international and national migration laws, policies, and frameworks.
  • Experience in conducting migration assessments, research studies, and program evaluations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in other languages is an asset.

This should also be reflected in your motivation statement, your resume and your sample works. This will help us place you in specific projects in specific countries.
