We are currently updating our roster of consultants to support our growing portfolio of projects. We seek a Data Scientist/Analyst Consultant Expert to provide strategic guidance and technical support on data analysis, modeling, visualization, and interpretation.
Objectives:
The Data Scientist/Analyst Consultant Expert will play a crucial role in ensuring that data-driven insights are integrated into Scofield Associates’ projects. Key objectives include:
- Providing technical expertise and guidance on data collection, cleaning, analysis, modeling, and visualization techniques.
- Developing and implementing data-driven solutions to address complex business and social challenges.
- Building and deploying machine learning models to extract insights and make predictions from large datasets.
- Designing and creating data visualizations to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
- Collaborating with project teams to identify and prioritize data needs, and to ensure that data analysis supports project objectives.
- Representing Scofield Associates in relevant forums and networks on data science and analytics.
Scope of Work:
The Data Scientist/Analyst Consultant Expert will be engaged on a project-specific basis, with the scope of work tailored to the specific needs of each project. Typical tasks may include:
- Collecting and cleaning data from various sources, including databases, APIs, and web scraping.
- Conducting exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.
- Building and deploying machine learning models for classification, regression, clustering, and other tasks.
- Developing data visualization tools, dashboards, and reports, communicating findings effectively to stakeholders.
- Providing technical advice and training to project teams on data science and analytics tools and techniques.
- Contributing to the development of knowledge products and publications on data science and analytics.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field with at least three years of relevant experience, OR
- A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field with at least five years of relevant experience.
- A PhD in a relevant field is preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in data analysis, modeling, visualization, and interpretation using Python, R, or other relevant tools.
- Experience with machine learning algorithms and techniques, such as linear regression, decision trees, random forests, and neural networks.
- Strong understanding of statistical concepts and methods.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in other languages is an asset.

This should also be reflected in your motivation statement, your resume and your sample works. This will help us place you in specific projects in specific countries.
