We are currently updating our roster of consultants to support our growing portfolio of projects. We seek a Data Scientist/Analyst Consultant Expert to provide strategic guidance and technical support on data analysis, modeling, visualization, and interpretation.

Objectives:
The Data Scientist/Analyst Consultant Expert will play a crucial role in ensuring that data-driven insights are integrated into Scofield Associates’ projects. Key objectives include:

• Providing technical expertise and guidance on data collection, cleaning, analysis, modeling, and visualization techniques.
• Developing and implementing data-driven solutions to address complex business and social challenges.
• Building and deploying machine learning models to extract insights and make predictions from large datasets.
• Designing and creating data visualizations to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
• Collaborating with project teams to identify and prioritize data needs, and to ensure that data analysis supports project objectives.
• Representing Scofield Associates in relevant forums and networks on data science and analytics.

Scope of Work:
The Data Scientist/Analyst Consultant Expert will be engaged on a project-specific basis, with the scope of work tailored to the specific needs of each project. Typical tasks may include:

• Collecting and cleaning data from various sources, including databases, APIs, and web scraping.
• Conducting exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.
• Building and deploying machine learning models for classification, regression, clustering, and other tasks.
• Developing data visualization tools, dashboards, and reports, communicating findings effectively to stakeholders.
• Providing technical advice and training to project teams on data science and analytics tools and techniques.
• Contributing to the development of knowledge products and publications on data science and analytics.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field with at least three years of relevant experience, OR
• A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field with at least five years of relevant experience.
• A PhD in a relevant field is preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in data analysis, modeling, visualization, and interpretation using Python, R, or other relevant tools.
• Experience with machine learning algorithms and techniques, such as linear regression, decision trees, random forests, and neural networks.
• Strong understanding of statistical concepts and methods.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in other languages is an asset.
