We are currently updating our roster of consultants to support our growing portfolio of projects. We seek a Food and Nutrition Consultant Expert to provide strategic guidance and technical support on food security, nutrition interventions, and dietary health promotion.

Objectives:
The Food and Nutrition Consultant Expert will play a vital role in ensuring that food and nutrition considerations are integrated into Scofield Associates’ projects. Key objectives include:

• Providing technical expertise and guidance on food security assessments, nutrition interventions, dietary guidelines, and food systems analysis.
• Conducting food security assessments, nutritional surveys, and program evaluations to identify needs, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
• Developing evidence-based food and nutrition strategies, policies, and action plans to address malnutrition and promote dietary health.
• Designing and facilitating training and capacity-building programs on food safety, nutrition education, and dietary behavior change.
• Collaborating with project teams to ensure the effective integration of food and nutrition considerations into project design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Representing Scofield Associates in relevant forums and networks on food and nutrition.

Scope of Work:
The Food and Nutrition Consultant Expert will be engaged on a project-specific basis, with the scope of work tailored to the specific needs of each project. Typical tasks may include:

• Conducting food security assessments to evaluate the availability, accessibility, and utilization of food at the household and community levels.
• Designing and implementing nutritional surveys to assess the dietary intake and nutritional status of target populations.
• Developing and evaluating food and nutrition interventions, such as food fortification programs, school feeding programs, and nutrition education campaigns.
• Providing technical advice and support on food safety, dietary guidelines, and food labeling regulations.
• Conducting training and capacity-building programs for healthcare professionals, community workers, and other stakeholders on food and nutrition-related topics.
• Preparing comprehensive reports and presentations that clearly communicate food and nutrition findings and recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A Master’s degree in Food and Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field with at least five years of relevant experience, OR
• A Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field with at least eight years of relevant experience.
• A PhD in a relevant field is preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in food security assessments, nutritional surveys, dietary interventions, and food systems analysis.
• Strong understanding of international and national food and nutrition policies and guidelines.
• Experience in designing and implementing food and nutrition programs and interventions.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills.
• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in other languages is an asset.

This should also be reflected in your motivation statement, your resume and your sample works. This will help us place you in specific projects in specific countries.
