We are currently updating our roster of consultants to support our growing portfolio of projects. We seek a Governance and Sustainability Expert to provide strategic guidance and technical support on governance structures, sustainable practices, and ethical considerations across various sectors and contexts.

Objectives:
The Governance and Sustainability Expert Consultant will play a crucial role in ensuring that governance and sustainability are embedded throughout Scofield Associates’ project cycles. Key objectives include:

• Providing technical expertise and guidance on governance frameworks, sustainable development principles, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards.
• Conducting governance assessments, risk analyses, and sustainability audits to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for enhanced impact.
• Developing governance policies, codes of conduct, and sustainability strategies to promote ethical behavior, transparency, and accountability.
• Designing and facilitating training and capacity-building programs on governance, sustainability, and corporate social responsibility.
• Collaborating with project teams to ensure the effective integration of governance and sustainability considerations into project design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Representing Scofield Associates in relevant forums and networks on governance and sustainability.

Scope of Work:
The Governance and Sustainability Expert Consultant will be engaged on a project-specific basis, with the scope of work tailored to the specific needs of each project. Typical tasks may include:

• Conducting governance assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of governance structures and processes.
• Developing governance policies and codes of conduct to promote ethical behavior and transparency.
• Designing and implementing sustainability strategies to minimize environmental impact and maximize social benefits.
• Providing technical advice and support on governance and sustainability issues to project teams.
• Conducting training and capacity-building programs on governance, sustainability, and corporate social responsibility.
• Preparing comprehensive reports and presentations that clearly communicate governance and sustainability findings and recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A Master’s degree in Governance, Sustainability, Law, Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related field with at least five years of relevant experience, OR
• A Bachelor’s degree in Governance, Sustainability, Law, Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related field with at least eight years of relevant experience.
• A PhD in a relevant field is preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in governance frameworks, sustainable development principles, and ESG standards.
• Experience in conducting governance assessments, risk analyses, and sustainability audits.
• Strong understanding of international and national governance and sustainability policies and frameworks.
• Excellent facilitation, training, and capacity-building skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills.
• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in other languages is an asset.
